Rich Hush – Mutual Friends
-

Sometimes you meet people and instantly get a good feeling about them. That’s nice when it happens. It’s rare. Rich Hush gave me that feeling right off the bat when I met him at a wedding in Ohio. Instantly started chatting it up, talking about music and old Brazilian films. Mr. Hush studies experimental film and music at the University of Kansas. He aspires to profess despite admitting that “those who can’t do, teach” when I met him.
I’m a little superstitious when it comes to people’s environs affecting everything else. This mix feels pretty much academically awesome. It covers a healthy amount of ground. Not in a huge rush to get anywhere but nice pacing. This shit is great.
So I’m working on wrapping up my second week in Brooklyn. Since I got here I’ve seen Tortoise, Bear in Heaven, and Ceiling Stars play. I caught a DJ set by Roberto Lange and Jon Bless (both represented here on Bird & Whale). I went and saw the Francis Bacon exhibit at the Met which was killer. That guy stayed so raw for like 50 years. Had a bike wreck. Went to two going away parties. All in all, it was a good introduction to this town. Feel like I’m in the right place.
I thought I would turn a page and start including playlists on this page. Make it a little easier for people to know what’s what. Please don’t sue me Kanye.
