I’m really happy to post this compilation. I use the word “compilation” as opposed to “mix” because it’s all original music by the wickedly talented Drew Rydberg. Drew is a little bit of a mythical figure in my book. I got to know his music from mix tapes that Matt Leer would make me way back in the day. On almost every tape that Matt would put together, there would be a cut by Drew, and it would always stand out a little bit (despite some very tough competition). Always have a little something that made you listen more intently. I still haven’t met Drew, but I’m really honored that he chose Bird & Whale to share some of his music with us.

Are you coming to the Bird & Whale Showcase on Tuesday? Man. it’s gonna be good. Gotta get some people out to get that dance floor going though.
Frank Gossner (aka DJ Soulpusher – aka DJ Franc O) spent the last three years in West Africa collecting records. Chicago black belts Rob Sevier and Supreme Court are on the bill as well. All you gotta do is show up and dance.
