This is video from a recording session I did with Nori Tanaka when I was in Japan in the fall of 2009. Nori was recording percussion for my Lobisomem LP, Onze Pedras. I mentioned this on the Vimeo page but it’s worth repeating; the audio on this clip is just from the mic on my little Canon PowerShot G9. The actual audio recordings were engineered by Nori and were a thousand times richer than what you hearing now. Also worth noting that this video was recorded at 5:20 AM after playing for about four hours.
Not quite sure what else to say about it. I think Nori is one of the most gifted musicians I’ve ever met. Really honored to collaborate with him and hope we can do it again soon.

Hey all. I made a video for one the tracks from new album, Onze Pedras. The name of the track is “You will need a new name one day Hercules Rockaway.”
I sampled all footage from the PBS program “Nature | Clever Monkeys” and messed around with a process affectionately called data-moshing.
Nori Tanaka played drums on this track. Matt Leer played electric & baritone guitar. I played synths, and various electronics.
I think it looks best full screen so click that little 4-arrowed button in the bottom right of the video to be absorbed. Please spread the word if you enjoy it.

Dhegiha Group

I made a video in celebration of the release of my Lobisomem Brightest Solids – EP. It will be released on Tall Corn Music on February 23rd, 2010.
The name of the track is “Dhegiha Group”.
I made the video by stringing together 2,513 photographs I took with my digital camera. The video was shot in one continuous take.

I put together this video for my friend Jason Ajemian’s group Who Cares How Long You Sink. The name of the song is “Like Organic Life”. The film footage was shot by Jack Fetzer (Garen Gaston’s Grandad). I edited the footage and abstracted it. Who Cares How Long You Sink is going to have a record release party this Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Heaven Gallery. I’m going to be doing video projections using more of the same footage to accompany the music. I thought this might be a nice way to give you a taste of what’s in store. I think Jason has a real unique musical vision, and I sincerely hope this video pays tribute to that.
